Everything You Need to Know About Li’l Rizzo’s
About Li’l Rizzo’s
Why is it called Li'l Rizzo's?
In 1985, Carol Borders opened the original Rizzo’s at the Lake of the Ozarks, an upscale Italian restaurant featuring steaks, chicken, veal, gourmet pastas, and the now-famous Rizzo’s House Salad.
Four years later, Carol decided to open a second, more casual restaurant. While the new location was getting ready to open, people would often ask, “Where’s Carol?” The answer was almost always, “She’s at Little Rizzo’s.”
Before long, the staff had started referring to the original restaurant as “Big Rizzo’s” and the new one as “Little Rizzo’s.” Carol loved the nickname, shortened it to Li’l Rizzo’s, and the name stuck.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Our Sauce – Our red sauce uses premium California vine-ripened plum tomatoes, picked at the peak of freshness and packed for exceptional flavor.
Our Cheese – We use premium whole milk mozzarella, prized for its rich, creamy flavor and exceptional melt, and Provel, a St. Louis original and a regional favorite known for its smooth, creamy texture and signature melt. Made from a blend of cheddar, Swiss, and provolone cheeses, Provel has a rich, buttery flavor with a subtle smoky finish. Unlike traditional mozzarella, it melts exceptionally smooth and creamy, making it the classic choice for authentic St. Louis-style pizza.
